Battery monitoring
The 3 V lithium battery to back up the SRAM and the clock module is monitored in two stages:

2.7 V ± 0.1 V Diagnostic buffer entry: Battery warning
Battery warning threshold reached
2.25 V ± 0.25 V Diagnostic buffer entry: Battery error
Voltage below limit
In order to prevent data being lost, the battery should be replaced once the Battery warning
entry appears in the diagnostics buffer or, at the very latest, the first time the Battery error entry
appears in the diagnostics buffer.
Disposal
NOTICE
Dispose of batteries properly
Batteries must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Preparation
Note
The configuration data and contents of the SRAM in the device are buffered for at least 30
seconds when the battery is replaced.
Preparation – make a note of the BIOS settings
Note
Note specific BIOS setup settings if changes have been made.
