Modulo range setting
Description
Linear axis
A linear axis is an axis whose traversing range is limited in both motor directions of rotation
by the mechanical system of the machine, e.g.:
•
Stacker crane
•
Elevating platform
•
Tilting station
•
Gate/door drive
The inverter maps the complete traversing range to the position
actual value.
Modulo axis
A modulo axis is an axis with an infinite traversing range, e.g.:
•
Rotary table
•
Conveyor belt
•
Roller conveyor
The inverter maps the modulo range on the position actual value. If
the load position leaves the modulo range, then the value range of
the position actual value repeats in the inverter.
