5.2-1 Cable Carrier Repair
The cable carrier can be repaired by simply using a
screwdriver. Each crossbar can be snapped off from
either side of the chain either by hand or by using the
screwdriver as a lever. New crossbars may be installed
by snapping links together.

5.2-2 Check Wear Pads
1. Ensure aerial platform is on a rm level surface
and is in stowed position.
2. Start engine from base control console.
3. Raise main boom to a comfortable working
height (chest high), and then extend y boom
approximately 1 ft (30 cm).
4. Measure the thickness of each wear pad and
replace wear pad if it is less than 7/16" (11 mm)
5. If wear pad is not within specied thickness, shim
as necessary.
5.2-3 Shimming Wear Pads
1. Ensure aerial platform is on a rm level surface
and is in stowed position.
2. Raise main boom to a comfortable working height
(chest high) and extend y boom until wear pads
are accessible.
3. Loosen wear pad fasteners.
4. Shim as necessary to obtain 0–1/32" clearance
and zero drag.

5. Extend and retract y boom through the entire
range of motion and observe for loose points.
NOTE
Always maintain squareness between the boom’s
outer and inner tubes.
