Enabling data entry fields
Situationally dependent with function keys or by direct number entries. The Data Entry screen is
displayed. Existing values are displayed.
The name of the data entry field is shown in the symbol bar. A unit of measure code is displayed if
the entry refers to a unit of measure.
The numbers 0 to 9 can be entered directly with the number keypad.
Entries are aligned right. The cursor blinks under the last entered number.
The C key deletes the character highlighted by the cursor, while the CL key or the Delete function
key deletes the entire entry. The Cancel key ends the data entry without saving the new data entry
values, and the existing values remain intact. The Save key saves the entered values and returns to
the application program.
The specification that defines whether a period, comma, or no decimal delimiter is used is
programmed in Setup Mode Display/Decimal Delimiter. Only the specified number of characters can
be entered into the data entry field; entries beyond this are not displayed and are not saved.
The numbers 0 to 9 can be entered directly with the number keypad.
Entries are aligned left. The numbered keys have multi-function assignments that include capital
letters and special characters.
The special character keys (,./) and (+-) are available in addition to this.
If a numbered key is pressed again within one second of having been pressed, this pages through
the various characters assigned to the key. If the key is not pressed again within one second, the
highlighted character is stored and the cursor moves to the next position.
If only numbers are entered, this is possible directly in sequence without waiting, as long as a
number is not entered multiple times in sequence. The cursor blinks under the last entered position.
The cursor can be moved with the Arrow keys.
The C key deletes the last character to the left of the cursor or the character under which the
cursor blinks; the CL key deletes the entire entry.
The Cancel key ends the data entry without saving the new data entry values, and the existing
values remain intact. The Save key saves the entered values and returns to the application program.
Only the specified number of characters can be entered into the data entry field; entries beyond
this overwrite the last character. All alpha-numeric entries can also be made with the optionally
available external PC keyboard.
