You can also use an older style Optical Reader with an L5–Edge DRC Adaptor to communicate with a
5 Series datalogger.
Note: The L5–Edge DRC Adaptor contains a small, long-lasting battery (not user-replaceable). The Adaptor should
always be stored above freezing temperatures and with caps on to prevent unnecessary battery drainage and
protect the optical eyes.
Note: The L5–Edge DRC Adaptor also allows the connection of a Levelogger 5 to an older style Direct Read Cable.

If you are programming an Edge or Gold Series datalogger, you will require an Edge–L5 DRC Adaptor to
connect to a Desktop Reader 5 or Field Reader 5, or you can use an older style Optical Reader.
