Direct Read Cable
Levelogger 5 Series dataloggers can be used with L5 Direct Read Cables, as well as the older style Direct Read
Cables (used with Edge and Gold Series dataloggers). To use the older style Direct Read Cables, an L5–Edge
DRC Adaptor is required.
Note: When connecting an older style Direct Read Cable to an L5–Edge DRC Adaptor, only turn the coupling
on the Direct Read Cable and hold the Adaptor still.
Note: The L5–Edge DRC Adaptor contains a small, long-lasting battery (not user-replaceable). The Adaptor should
always be stored above freezing temperatures and with caps on to prevent unnecessary battery drainage and protect
the optical eyes.
Levelogger Edge and Gold Series dataloggers can be used with L5 Direct Read Cables, as well as the older
style Direct Read Cables. To use L5 Direct Read Cables, an Edge–L5 DRC Adaptor is required.
Note: The Edge–L5 DRC Adaptor contains a small, long-lasting battery (not user-replaceable). The Adaptor should
always be stored above freezing temperatures and with caps on to prevent unnecessary battery drainage and protect
the optical eyes.
Note: When connecting an Edge–L5 DRC Adaptor, only turn the coupling on the Adaptor and hold the
datalogger still. Hold the Adaptor still while threading on the Direct Read Cable coupling.
Note: The dimensions of an older style Direct Read Cable are the same as the L5 Direct Read Cable.
