A Single Station Fails
significant. Thus you can try to swap
the two wires around and see if it
makes a difference.
The wires to polarized solenoids
will
be different from each other. They
may be red and black, or might
have a white stripe. If the two
solenoid's wires are different,
always try swapping their
connections to the decoder..
Take the station to the Ranger Converter 3000
and perform a direct test before replacing it.
If the station fails with too high current reading
Check the two-wire between the solenoid and the
station for cracks in the insulation or bad
connections.
Detach the solenoid from the station and
measure
the resistance of the solenoid itself. If the
resistance
is less than expected, it might be damaged by
lightning or it might have a short circuit. Try
replacing the solenoid.
Take the station to the controller and perform a
direct test before replacing it.
