Stihl TS 440 - 9.3 Assembling and installing the brake lever

N Remove E-clips (4).
N Pull off brake lever (3) and lever (5).
N Remove lever (5) from brake lever (3).
9.3 Assembling and installing the brake lever
N Clean lever (5), brake lever (3) and installation site.
N Grease pins (9, 10) including the surfaces in the area
around the brake lever (3).
N Insert lever (5) into brake lever (3).
N Push brake lever (3) and lever (5) onto the pins on the
connector.
N Fit the E-clips (4).
N Grease area around the lever (arrows). Total quantity
of grease: 10 g (0.4 oz.).
N Push brake lever (3) upward and hold it there.
N Hook in the tension rod (7).
N Push brake lever (3) downward.
N Hook tension spring (1) into the lever (5) and push it
over the pin (arrow) with the aid of the assembly
tube (8) 1117 890 0900.
N Install brake band, @ 8.3.
N Install connector, @ 7.3.
N Install rear clamping arm, @ 5.3.
N Install rear ribbed V-belt, @ 4.3.
N Install “starter cover with rewind starter”, @ 4.3.
N Fit guard, @ 4.3.
