Stihl TS 440 - 10.5.1 Installing new brake lever

N Push the brake lever (25) upward.
N Unhook tension rod (26).
N Push brake lever (25) downward.
N Remove lock washers (27).
N Pull off brake lever (25) and lever (20).
N Remove lever (20) from brake lever (25).
N Dispose of brake lever (25).
10.5 Installing new brake lever, new brake band and
new V belts
10.5.1 Installing new brake lever
N Clean lever (20) and installation site.
N Grease pins (28, 29) including the surfaces in the
area around the brake lever (25) with grease from the
“Brake repair kit” grease pouch.
N Insert lever (20) into new brake lever (25).
N Push brake lever (25) and lever (20) onto the pins on
the connector.
N Install lock washers (27).
N Grease area around the lever (arrows). Use up all the
remaining grease in the pouch.
N Push brake lever (25) upward and hold it there.
N Hook in the tension rod (26).
N Push brake lever (25) downward.
N Hook tension spring (24) into the lever (20) and push
it over the pin (arrow) with the aid of the assembly
tube (30) 1117 890 0900.
