MISSION SEAT ETSO
MAINTENANCE MANUAL
The 5-point harness
has a total life of fifteen (15) years and an installed life of twelve (12) years. It will be
replaced ‘on condition’ or when its life has expired regardless of condition, to protect against Ultra-Violet
(UV) degradation.
The seat requires no periodic overhaul to maintain reliability. The seat can be maintained ‘on condition’
with restoration only required when faults are identified.
Maintenance of the Martin-Baker seats and associated equipment should be confined to those tasks de-
tailed in the maintenance manuals. Where possible, maintenance should be performed in a clean and dry
area. Care should be taken to protect the parts from damage, exposure to moisture and to prevent damage
by personnel, tools, water, oil and grease.
The maintenance operations used throughout the maintenance manuals have the meaning given in the
Webster’s Dictionary EXCEPT for those listed in the following sequence. Reference should be made to
this list as necessary to establish the correct procedure to be followed where these terms are used in the
text.
