(3) Make sure the harness lap-straps are securely attached to the spools (790) on the bucket assembly
(745).
C. Cushion assemblies.
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1, Sheet 1)
(1) Make sure the lumbar support (35), cushion back - front (55), cushion back - rear (60) and sitting
cushion assembly (65) are not contaminated, damaged or worn.
(2) Make sure the fasteners for the cushion assemblies (55), (60) and (65) are all attached to the seat.
(3) Make sure the lumbar support (35) is attached to the cushion back - front (55).
D. Seat structure.
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1 Sheets 1 and 3)
(1) Visually examine the seat structure as far as possible for signs of damage. Repair or replace the seat
if there are signs of damage.
(2) Make sure the seat is securely attached to the floor rails.
E. Seat adjustment.
(1) Raise/lower adjustment lever.
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1, Sheets 8, 9 and 11)
WARNING
YOU MUST SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT
HEIGHT. THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY HAS TWO GAS SPRINGS AND CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY. YOU CAN BE INJURED IF YOU DO NOT SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY
WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT HEIGHT.
(a) Sit in the seat. Lift the handle for the raise/lower lever (380) UP, adjust the seat height and re-
lease the handle. Make sure:
- The two vertical locking plungers (505) disengage and engage the receptacles in sides of the
bucket assembly (745).
- The raise/lower lever (380) operates the vertical locking plungers (505) with normal force. If
the force required is more than normal or the plunger does not operate correctly, do the nec-
essary maintenance, refer to “TESTING AND FAULT ISOLATION” on page 101.
- Lift the handle for the raise/lower lever (380) UP and make sure the seat can be adjusted
through its full height range. At the same time, make sure the lever returns to the DOWN po-
sition when released.
(2) Fore/aft adjustment lever.
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1, Sheets 8 and 14)
(a) Lift and hold the handle for the fore/aft adjustment lever (355) and move the seat. Make sure:
- The floor locking plungers (195) disengage from the floor rails.
- The fore/aft lever (355) operates the floor locking plungers (195) with normal force. If the force
required is more than normal or the plungers do not operate correctly, do the necessary main-
tenance. Refer to “TESTING AND FAULT ISOLATION” on page 101.
- The seat moves backwards and forwards, freely over the full range of travel.
