PREFLIGHT INSPECTION (Continued)
8 NOSE
It is essential in cold weather to remove even the
smallest accumulations of frost, ice, snow, or slush
from the propeller blades and spinner, and the air
inlets (starter/generator, oil cooler and engine
inlets). To assure complete removal of
contamination, conduct a visual and tactile
inspection of all critical surfaces. If these
requirements are not performed, airplane
performance will be degraded to a point where a
safe takeoff and climb may not be possible.
