Note:Overaperiodoftime,adeckmotorcanwearinternally.Awornmotor
maybypassoiltoitscasedraincausingthemotortobelessefcient.Eventually,
enoughoillosswillcausethedeckmotortostallunderheavycuttingconditions.
Continuedoperationwithaworn,inefcientmotorcangenerateexcessiveheat,
causedamagetosealsandothercomponentsinthehydraulicsystemandaffect
qualityofcut.
Note:Onemethodtondafailingormalfunctioningdeckmotoristohave
anotherpersonobservethemachinewhilemowingindenseturf.Abadmotor
willrunslower,producefewerclippingsandmaycauseadifferentappearance
ontheturf.
CAUTION
Preventpersonalinjuryand/ordamagetoequipment.Readall
WARNINGS,CAUTIONSandPrecautionsforHydraulicTestingatthe
beginningofthissection.
1.Makesurehydraulicoilisatnormaloperatingtemperaturebyoperating
themachineforapproximatelyten(10)minutes.Makesurethehydraulic
reservoirisfull.
2.Parkmachineonalevelsurfacewiththecuttingdecksloweredandoff.Make
sureengineisoffandtheparkingbrakeisengaged.
Note:Thedeckmotorsareconnectedinseries.Toisolateafaultymotor,all
motorsinthecircuitmayhavetobetestedbystartingwiththerstmotorin
thecircuit(seeAppendixA(pageA–1)).
