ProcedureforEngineCoolingFanCircuitTest
Theenginecoolingfancircuittestshouldbeperformedtomakesurethatthe
enginecoolingfancircuithasthecorrectsystempressureandfanspeed.
CAUTION
Preventpersonalinjuryand/ordamagetoequipment.Readall
WARNINGS,CAUTIONSandPrecautionsforHydraulicTestingatthe
beginningofthissection.
1.Makesurehydraulicoilisatnormaloperatingtemperaturebyoperating
themachineforapproximatelyten(10)minutes.Makesurethehydraulic
reservoirisfull.
2.Parkmachineonalevelsurfacewiththecuttingdecksloweredandoff.Make
sureengineisoffandtheparkingbrakeisapplied.

Connecta345bar(5,000PSI)gaugewithhydraulichoseattachedtotest
ttinginportG1onrearofmanifold.
4.Starttheengineandincreaseenginespeedtohighidlespeed.
5.Whilemonitoringthepressuregaugeandusingaphototactoidentifythe
coolingfanspeed,disconnectthewireharnessconnector(white/violetand
blackwires)fromtheproportionalreliefvalvesolenoidatfancontrolmanifold
(portTS).Bothfanspeedandpressureshouldincreaseandstabilizeafter
thesolenoidisdisconnected.
PRESSUREGAUGEREADINGTOBEapproximately207bar(3000PSI).
PHOTOTAC(fanspeed)READINGTOBEapproximately2800RPM.
6.Stopengineandrecordtestresults.
7.Ifpressurerisestoapproximately207bar(3000PSI)butfanspeedislow,
considerthatthehydraulicfanmotoriswornordamaged.Ifpressureand
fanspeedarebothlow,considerthatnalgearpumpsectioniswornor
damaged(seeGearPumpFlow(UsingTesterwithPressureGauge&Flow
Meter)(page5–82)).
