8.Bendthelockingwashertabawayfromthelocknut.UseaTMFS12spanner
sockettoremovethe55x1.5mmlocknut.Removethelockingwasherand
spacer.Discardthelockingwasher.
9.Carefullyremovehousingandbearingconesfromspindle.
10.Removeanddiscardsealsfromhousing.
11.Ifnecessary,removebearingcupsfromhousing.
12.Ifwheelstudremovalisnecessary,useapresstoremovethestud(s)from
thehousing.
13.Ifnecessary,removetheringgearfromthehousing:
Note:Highstrengththreadlockingcompoundwasusedduringassembly.It
maybenecessarytoheattheringgearnearthemountingscrewstorelease
thescrews.
A.Removesocketheadscrews(item7)andlockwashersthatsecurethe
ringgeartothehousing.
B.Removetheringgearandretrievethefour(4)dowelpins(item10)from
housing.
C.RemovetheO−ringfromthehousingboreanddiscard.

Note:Usenewseals,O−ringsandlockingwasherwhenassemblingthe
planetarydrive.
1.Thoroughlycleanpartsinsolventanddrycompletelyaftercleaning.Inspect
partsfordamageorexcessivewearandreplaceasnecessary.
2.Ifanywheelstudswereremoved,useapresstoinstallnewstudsinto
housing.Makesurethatstudshoulderisfullypressedagainsthousing
surface.
3.Ifringgearwasremovedfromhousing:
A.Fitfour(4)dowelpinsinhousing.
B.ApplyalightcoatofgreasetoanewO−ringandinstallitinthehousing
bore.
C.Applyhighstrengththreadlockingcompoundandsecureringgearto
housingwithlockwashersandsocketheadscrews.Tightenscrewsto37
N·m(27ft−lb).
4.Ifpreviouslyremoved,pressbearingcupsintohousing.Cupsshouldbe
pressedfullytoshoulderofthehousingbore.
5.Fitinnerbearingconeontospindle.Makesureinnerbearingconeseats
fullyagainstspindleshoulder.Ifinnerbearingisnotseatedfully,lightlytap
bearingconeoninnerhubuntilitseatsproperly.
6.Makesurethatsealboreinhousingisthoroughlycleaned.IfODofseal
isnotrubberordoesnothaveasealantcoating,applyalightcoatingof
siliconesealanttosealboreinhousing.Installsealintohousingsoitisush
withhousingface.
7.Installbootseal.Coversurfaceoflipsealandbootsealwithgrease.
8.Lightlyoilbearingcupsthenplacehousingassemblyoverspindleandinner
bearingcone.Takecaretonotdamagesealsorspindleduringinstallation.
9.Fitouterbearingconeontospindle.
