Onemethodtondafailingormalfunctioningcuttingreelmotoristohave
anotherpersonobservethemachinewhilemowingindenseturf.Abadmotor
willrunslower,producefewerclippingsandmaycauseadifferentappearance
ontheturf.
SpecialEquipmentRequired:Flowmeterwithpressuregaugethathasatleasta
45L/minute(12gallons/minute)capacity.
TestProcedure
1.Ensurethatthehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperatureby
operatingthemachineforatleast10minutes.
2.Determinewhichofthereelmotorissuspectandbegintestingwiththat
motor.
3.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfacewiththereelengageswitchoff,lowerthe
cuttingunits,shutofftheengine,mowspeedlimiterisintheMOWposition,
andsettheparkingbrake.
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page6–8).
