AdjustingtheParkingBrakeSwitch
IMPORTANT
Topreventtheparkingbrakeswitchdamage,ensurethatno
componentscontactswitchthroughentirebrakepedalmovement.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,settheparkingbrake,lowerthecutting
units,shutofftheengine,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.

2.Whentheparkingbrakeisnotset,thegapbetweentheparkingbrakeswitch
andthetabontheparkingbrakedetentshouldbe2.4to2.5mm(0.094
to0.100inch)(Figure222).
3.Ifgapisincorrect,loosenthejamnutsthatsecuretheswitchtothebrake
pedal.Positiontheswitchwithjamnutstoallowcorrectgapbetweenthe
switchandthedetenttab.Tightenthejamnutstosecuretheadjustment.
Torquethejamnutsto18.4to22.4N∙m(162to198in-lb).Afterthejam
nutsaretightened,ensurethatclearancebetweentheheadoftheparking
brakeswitchandthetabontheparkingbrakedetenthasnotchanged.
4.Afteradjustmenttotheparkingbrakeswitch,usetheInfoCenterdisplayto
verifythattheparkingbrakeswitchandcircuitwiringarefunctioningcorrectly;
refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting(page7–28).
