Note:Cuttingunitswithaluminumsideplateshavethreadedinsertsforthe
reelmotormountingbolts(Figure328).Checktheconditionoftheseinserts
wheneverthereelmotorisremoved.Replacetheinsertsifthereisanydamage.
Tighterinsertsto48to54N∙m(35to40ft-lb)duringinstallation.

1.CoatthesplineshaftofthereelmotorwithNo.2multipurposelithiumbase
grease.
2.Installthecapscrewsforthereeldrivemotorintothecuttingunitsideplate
andleaveapproximately12.7mm(1/2inch)ofthreadsexposedoneach
screw.
3.Rotatethemotorclockwisesothatthemotorangescleartheboltsinthe
cuttingunitsideplates.Alignthereelmotorshaftsplineswiththecuttingreel
insertsplines.Slidethemotorshaftintothereelinsert.
