DRIFT TEST
If the stat test has already been performed (and passed), but gauge
readings seem to drift between tests, a drift test can be performed to
check the long-term drift of the 4640-B.
A drift test consists of five 4-minute counts that are begun
approximately 3-4 hours after completion of a stat test.
NOTE
6. SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
The gauge should not
be turned off or removed from the
location the stat test was performed between the stat test
and drift test. The stat test must
be current.
With the gauge still on the air gap spacer and reference block, press
SHIFT and SPECIAL.
Either press YES once then START/ENTER, or press 4 for
the display:
Place Gauge on
Spacer & both on
Block,Put Rod in
SAFE,Press ENTER
To start taking the five counts, press START/ENTER.
After the five counts have been completed, the gauge will display
the average counts and indicate if the test passed or failed.

DriftA: x.xx% P
DriftB: x.xx% P
View DRIFT data?
The pass/fail tolerance for System 1 is 0.50%; the tolerance for
System 2 is 0.80%.
The individual count data may be viewed or printed at this time.
Figure 6–4 shows a sample printout of the drift test data.
