Times are as follows:
The Red Clearance Time is the minimum period during which the light is red to clear the
zone. It is not possible to open an AFAD during this period. The solid red light then turns on
(red clearance time).
The Yellow Time is the number of seconds the yellow light remains solid before turning red.
When you press or lower the gate from the arrow button on the V-Touch screen, the
yellow light becomes solid (yellow time). This behavior is similar to the traffic lights, it is a time
span that lets motorists know that a red light is imminent. 3 seconds is the typical time
recommended by several organizations.
During Minimum Yellow Flashing Time, the gate is open, and you only can close it once the
time has elapsed. This prevents the gate from closing by mistake shortly after it opens.
The Gate delay is the length of time the light is red before the gate comes down. Then the
gate comes down. This is the grace period for people who proceeded on the solid yellow
light to prevent the gate from hitting this last vehicle. 5 seconds is the typical time
recommended by several organizations.
When you select the Gate up before yellow check box, the yellow light starts flashing as
soon as the gate begins to rise. If cleared, the yellow light starts flashing only when the gate is
up.
The following settings are optional and may not be available for your unit.
The Use intrusion option sets up an alarm that automatically go off when the gate is hit and
broken by a vehicle. The alarm also goes of on the Flagger-Mac unit paired with the unit on
which the collision occurs, providing that this other unit is also equipped with that option, and
that the Use intrusion function is also activated on it.
When the alarm is triggered, the gates on both Flagger-Mac units, when paired, are lowered
and the red lamps are turned on. The sound alarms and the strobe lights on top of the signal
heads are turned on.
