Using well plates and vial trays 1-25
American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-compliant plates are
preferred, but the needle and tray mechanism adjusts to accommodate
non-ANSI-compliant plates.
Use the following materials as covers:
For samples in vials – Caps with PTFE or preslit PTFE/silicone
septa
For samples in low-volume inserts – PTFE/silicone caps or cap mats
For samples in plates – Polypropylene or PTFE/silicone cap mats;
heat-sealed microtiter plate film
Caution: Do not use hard plastic storage capmats or vial septa.
The instrument’s needle is of narrow diameter (0.031”) and cannot
penetrate firm materials.
Caution: To avoid contamination from the adhesive, do not use
adhesive-backed microtiter film.
