Requirement • The device is switched on.
• CO
2
monitoring was set as the ventilation mode for a new
patient (see "4.7.3 Selecting a ventilation mode for a new
patient", page 69).
•An etCO
2
/O
2
nasal cannula is connected
(see "4.4.7 Connecting the etCO
2
/O
2
nasal cannula",
page 62)
or
•The CO
2
measuring tube is connected to an external interface
(e.g., bag-valve mask with breathing system filter).
1. Assess CO
2
measurements diagnostically.
2. If necessary: Configure etCO
2
Trend (see "5.3.6 etCO
2
trend
(only with Capnography option)", page 115).
Result The CO
2
measurements and the respiratory rate of the patient are
monitored.
When using an etCO
2
/O
2
nasal cannula, the CO
2
measurement
may be distorted by the intake of additional air. Only the CO
2
trend can be assessed.
