4. Repeat the steps for all the ventilation parameters you want to
change.
Result Ventilation parameters have been changed.
The following parameters are mutually dependent:
• pMax/PEEP:
The minimum difference between pMax and PEEP is 5 mbar.
pMax ≥ PEEP + 5 mbar
•pMax/ΔpPS:
The minimum difference between PEEP + ΔpPS and pMax is
1 mbar if ΔpPS ≥ 5 mbar.
ΔpPS < 5 mbar: pMax ≥ PEEP + 5 mbar
ΔpPS ≥ 5 mbar: pMax ≥ PEEP + ΔpPS + 1 mbar
• Frequency/Vti:
The product of Freq. x Vti results in inspiratory minute volume
MVi.
MVi = Freq. × Vti
• The frequency and tidal volume ventilation parameters can
only be set in meaningful combinations. Combinations
resulting in a value below 1.5 l/min or above 20 l/min (BTPS)
cannot be set.
