Disassembly Procedures
Opening the Unit
WARNING Disconnect ALL power from the unit before repairing or
disassembling unit. Unplug the power cord and disconnect the battery at the
fuse in the battery compartment. See Replacing the Battery or Fuse (page 58)
Procedure Figure 31. Removing the Screws
1. Place unit on a clean, static mat.
2. Turn the unit up-side-down
3. Remove the 8 screws around the outside
rim of the unit. SeeFigure 31.
4. Using both hands, hold the upper case and
lower case of the unit together, turn the
unit upright.
5. Slowly lift the upper case, and disconnect
the ribbon cable from the upper case.
6. Lift off the top cover. See Figure 32.
