Westerbeke Universal M-50 - Removing Fuel Camshaft; Removing Oil Pump Drive Gear

REMOVING FUEL CAMSHAFT
1. Remove the fuel camshaft stopper.
2. Draw out the fuel camshaft and the injection pump gear.
NOTE FOR REASSEMBLING: Apply a thin film of engine oil to each part, and reassemble so that
the drive groove at the end of the camshaft engages
with the drive shaft of the hydraulic gear
pump. The
balls to be contained in the governor ball case are thirty 3.97 mm (0.1563 in.) diameter
ones and eight

REMOVING OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR
1. Straighten the claw of the claw washer of the oil pan, and remove the nut.
NOTE FOR REASSEMBLING: Check to see if there is a feather key. Be sure to bend the claw of
the
claw washer.
