FUEL SYSTEM
While the engine
is
running, fuel
is
fed
from the fuel tank (optional part) through the fuel filter
to
the fuel pump, which feeds fuel to the injection pump. The injection pump then feeds the fuel
through the injection pipes,
to
the nozzles which inject fuel
to
the cylinders for combustion. Any
fuel leaking from nozzles is collected
in
the fuel overflow pipes which drain into the tank.

FUEL FILTER
A fuel filter is used
to
prevent dirty fuel
from
reaching the injection pump and injection nozzles.
The filter element will require occasional replacement to maintain
an
adequate flow of fuel
to
the
injection pump. The frequency of this service will vary according
to
the cleanliness of available fuel
and the care
used
in
storage.
