4 Operation
4.1 Switching on the meter
Switching on Press the <On/Off> key.
The meter performs a self-test.
The display shows the manufacturer's logo while the self-test is being
performed.
If a sensor is connected, the measured value display appears.
Switching off Press the <On/Off> key.
Automatic switch-off The instrument has an automatic switchoff function in order to save the
batteries (see section 4.3.1). The automatic switchoff switches off the
measuring instrument if no key is pressed for an adjustable period.
The automatic switchoff is not active
z if the power pack is connected
z if a USB-B cable is connected
z if the Automatic data storage function is active, or with automatic
data transmission
Display illumination The meter automatically switches the display illumination to energy
saving mode if no key is pressed for 20 seconds.
After a further 60 seconds, the meter switches off the display illumina-
tion completely.
The illumination is switched on with the next keystroke again.
You can also generally switch on the display illumination (see section
4.3.1).
