If it is required to mount a filter that does not carry an orientation mark (arrow), we recommend you follow
this procedure:
Insert the filter having reflecting, dielectric coatings in such a way, that the
• reflective coating of the excitation filter (3Ć9/3) points to the outside (3Ć9/4), referred to the reflector modĆ
ule)
and the
• reflective coating of the emission filter (3Ć9/1) points to the inside (3Ć9/2).
(6) Changing the dichroic beam splitter
CAUTION Basically, it is not advisable to convert
the factory-fitted reflector modules
because of the sensitivity of their
components! However, if a specific
application requires such a converĆ
sion, proceed with extreme care to
avoid damage and contamination of
the optical components.
To replace a dichroic beam splitter, follow this proceĆ
dure:
• Use the screwdriver to loosen the two slotted
screws (3Ć10ā/ā1).
• Hold both halves of the module (emission half
3Ć10ā/ā2 and excitation half 3Ć10ā/ā3) of the reflecĆ
tor module FL P&C together, turn it round and put
it aside.
• Tilt upward the excitation half of the module
(3Ć11/ā1) now being on top and lift it out of the
holding elements (3Ć11/ā5b) of the bottom emisĆ
sion half (3Ć11/ā4).
• Take the dichroic beam splitter (3Ć11/ā2) and the
spring-loaded frame (3Ć11/ā3) out of the bottom
half of the module.
• Remove the old dichroic beam splitter and careĆ
fully put the new one with the reflective side on
top onto the spring-loaded frame (3Ć11/ā3). Insert
both parts together in the bottom half of the
module. Take care that the lateral tongue of the
spring-loaded frame engages with the correĆ
sponding recess of the bottom half of the module.
