Question 2 - Preset or Live
The encoder expects a single-digit response to this question (0 or 1). It determines how the
encoder behaves after sending all the pre-programmed digits for an instant call button using
the 2805/1500 format. The valid responses are:
0 = Preset 2805/1500 Hz
1 = Live 2805/1500 Hz
When set to Preset, the encoder sends the preset digits assigned to the instant call key when it
is pressed and that is it.
When set to Live, the encoder sends the preset digits assigned, then, as long as the instant call
button is held, additional 2805/1500 digits can be sent from the encoder keypad.
If the instant call button has no preset digits assigned (only the leading digit selecting the
2805/1500 format was assigned to it), then no digits will be sent other than the digits entered
from the keypad.
Question 3 - Tone Selection
The encoder expects a single-digit entry for this question (0 or 1). The valid responses are:
0 = 2805 Hz
1 = 1500 Hz
Two standard frequencies exist for the rotary dial format; they are 2805 Hz and 1500 Hz.
Selection of one will result in that frequency being used for this leading digit. If both 2805
and 1500 Hertz must be used, then each must be assigned to its own leading digit.
Saving the Changes
Once the single-digit response for “Question 3” has been entered, the Model 25 will
immediately begin to load all changes made in this section to memory to be used until new
changes are made. During the time that the Model 25 is loading this information to memory,
the display will appear as shown here.
