7.10.1 Wireless Network Overview
Wireless net works consist of wireless client s, access point s and bridges.
A wireless client is a radio connect ed to a user ’s com puter.
An access point is a radio with a wired connection to a net work, which can connect with
num erous wireless client s and let them access t he network.
A bridge is a radio t hat relays com m unications bet ween access point s and wireless client s,
extending a network’s range.
Traditionally, a wireless net work operates in one of t wo ways.
