14.4 The Printer Server Screen
The Device allows you to share a USB print er on your LAN. You can do t his by connecting a USB
printer to one of t he USB ports on t he Device and t hen
configuringadding the printer a TCP/ I P port
on the com put ers connected to your net work. See Sect ion 4.11 on page 60 for instruct ions on
adding a print er on your com put er.

14.4.1 Before You Begin
To configur e the print server you need the following:
• Your Device m ust be connect ed to your com puter and any other devices on your net work. The
USB print er m ust be connect ed to your Device.
• A USB print er w ith t he driver already installed on your com put er.
•
See Sect ion 4.11 on page 60 for inst ruct ions on adding a print er on your com put er.
• The com puters on your network m ust have the printer software already inst alled before t hey can
creat e a TCP/ I P port for print ing via t he net work. Follow your printer m anufact ur ers inst ruct ions
on how t o install the print er soft ware on your com put er.
Note: Your print er ’s inst allat ion instructions m ay ask t hat you connect t he print er to your
com puter. Connect your printer to t he Device instead.
Use t his screen to enable or disable sharing of a USB printer via your Device.
