9.2.1 Add/Edit Static Route
Use t his screen to add or edit a stat ic route. Click Add ne w st at ic route in the Rout in g screen or
the Edit icon next to t he stat ic route you want to edit. The screen shown next appears.

The following t able describes t he labels in t his screen.
9.3 The Policy Forwarding Screen
Traditionally, routing is based on the destination address only and the Device takes the short est
pat h t o forward a packet. Policy forwarding allows t he Device to override the default rout ing
behavior and alter the packet forwarding based on t he policy defined by the network adm inistrator.
Policy- based rout ing is applied to out going packets, prior to the norm al rout ing.

Destination I P
Address
Ent er the I Pv 4 or I Pv6 net work address of t he final destinat ion.
I P Subnet Mask I f you are using I Pv 4 and need t o specify a rout e t o a single host , use a subnet m ask of
255.255.255.255 in the subnet m ask field to force t he network num ber t o be ident ical to
the host I D. Enter the I P subnet m ask here.
Use Gat eway I P
Address
The gat eway is a rout er or sw it ch on the sam e net w ork segm ent as the device's LAN or WAN
port. The gateway helps forward packets to t heir destinations.
I f you want to use t he gat eway I P address, select En a ble .
Gateway I P
Address
Enter the I P address of the gat eway.
Use I nterface Select t he WAN int erface you want to use for t his static route.
Apply Click Apply to save your changes.
Cancel Click Cance l t o exit t his screen wit hout saving.
