the bandwidt h allot t ed t o e- m ail traffic com pared to other network traffic.
4.7 Access the Device Using DDNS
I f you connect your Device t o t he I nternet and it uses a dynam ic WAN I P address, it is inconvenient
for you to m anage t he device from the I nt ernet . The Device’s WAN I P address changes dynam ically.
Dynam ic DNS ( DDNS) allow s you t o access the Device using a dom ain nam e.
To use t his feature, you have t o apply for DDNS service at www.dyndns.org.

Note: I f you have a private WAN I P address, then you cannot use DDNS.
4.7.1 Registering a DDNS Account on www.dyndns.org
1 Open a browser and t ype h t tp:/ / w w w .dyndns.org.
2 Apply for a user account. This t utorial uses Use r N a m e1 and 1 2 3 4 5 as t he usernam e and
password.
3 Log int o www.dyndns.org using your account .
4 Add a new DDNS host nam e. This t ut orial uses t he following sett ings as an exam ple.
• Hostname: zyxe lr oute r.dyndns.or g
• Service Type: H ost w ith I P addre ss
• I P Address: Enter the WAN I P address t hat your Device is current ly using. You can find the I P
address on the Device’s Web Configurat or St a t us page.
Then you will need t o configure t he sam e account and host nam e on the Device later.
