11.4.1 Add/Edit Port Triggering Rule
This screen let s you creat e new port triggering rules. Click Add n e w r ule in t he Por t Triggering
screen or click a rule’s Edit icon to open the following screen.

The following t able describes t he labels in t his screen.
Open St art Port The open port is a por t (or a range of ports) that a server on the WAN uses when it sends
out a particular service. The Device forwards t he traffic wit h this port ( or range of ports) t o
the client com puter on t he LAN that requested t he service.
This is t he first port num ber t hat ident ifies a service.
Open End Port This is t he last port num ber t hat identifies a service.
Open Proto. This is t he open t ransport layer protocol.
Modify Click the Edit icon to edit this rule.
Click the Delet e icon t o delet e an existing rule.

Service Nam e Ent er a nam e t o identify this rule using keyboard charact ers ( A- Z, a- z, 1- 2 and so on).
WAN I nterface Select a WAN interface for which you want to configure port triggering r ules.
Trigger St art
Por t
The trigger port is a port ( or a range of ports) t hat causes (or t riggers) t he Dev ice to record
t he I P address of t he LAN com put er t hat sent t he traffic t o a server on the WAN.
Type a port num ber or t he st arting port num ber in a range of port num ber s.
Trigger End
Por t
Type a port num ber or t he ending port num ber in a range of port num bers.
Trigger Protocol Select the transport layer prot ocol from TCP, UDP, or TCP/ UDP.
