4.10 Using the Media Server Feature
Use t he m edia server feat ure t o play files on a com puter or on your television (using DMA- 2500) .
This sect ion show s you how t he m edia server feature works using the following m edia clients:
• Microsoft (MS) Windows Media Player
Media Server works wit h Windows Vist a and Windows 7. Make sure your com puter is able to play
m edia files ( m usic, videos and pictures) .
• ZyXEL DMA- 2500, a digital m edia adapter
You need to set up t he DMA- 2500 t o work wit h your t elevision ( TV). Refer t o t he DMA-2500 Quick
St art Guide for t he correct hardware connect ions.
Before you begin, connect the USB st orage device cont aining the m edia files you want to play to the
USB port of your Device.
4.10.1 Configuring the Device
Note: The Media Server feature is enabled by default.
To use your Device as a m edia server, click Net w ork Sett in g > H om e N e t w or king > Media
Ser v e r .
Tutorial: USB Services > Media Server
Check En able M e dia Server and click Apply. This enables DLNA- com pliant m edia clients t o play
the video, m usic and im age files in your USB storage device.

Device using Windows Media Player.
