UPDATE FIRMWARE, AUDIO FILES AND
PRESETS
You can update the bitbox micro rmware to get the latest features and other updates.
The rmware can be updated with the factory image, which includes the original
presets, or just the rmware itself. You can also choose individual presets to copy over
to your microSD Card.
Switch to a New MicroSD Card While Operating Bitbox micro
You can switch to a dierent microSD card while operating bitbox micro. Simply remove
the current card and insert the new one, then load a preset from the new card as usual.
Just make sure you save any changes before you remove the original card.
Backup Your Presets and WAV Files
Before you use a microSD card to update rmware, backup the les that are stored on
the microSD card:
Remove the microSD card from the bitbox micro module and insert it into your
computer. You may need to use a microSD adapter for your computer (not included).
Copy the les from the microSD card onto your computer.
To Install New Firmware:
Here are the steps required:
1. Download the desired rmware onto your computer. You can nd the latest
rmware images on the forum at https://forum.1010music.com. You must be a
registered user of the forum to access the download les. Forum registration
is free.
2. Unpack the zip le. Some browsers do this automatically for you. Make sure
the name of the .bin le is exactly MICRO.BIN (all upper case). If you have a
previous version on your computer, sometimes the le gets renamed during
download to create a unique le name.
3. Prepare a microSD card with the FAT32, MSDOS Fat, or ExFat format. The
card that comes with bitbox micro is formatted properly, but you may need to
reformat a card that came from somewhere else.
4. If you want to replace the Presets with the factory image, copy the full
contents of the zip le onto a microSD card. If you do not want to overwrite
your presets, copy only the MICRO.BIN le to the microSD card.
5. Turn o power to the module.
