9.4 Diagnostic status check
There are three ways of obtaining diagnostic informationen from the DFS 700: via the display,
by SMS (with GSM Modem), with the software.
The DFS performs a short self-check when switched on and shows a status code on its
display if applicable (see table below). After finishing the check two horizontal bars "- -" are
shown as a confirmation.
The DFS also performs an extensive self-check every 24 hours and, if applicable, sends a
status code by SMS to a defined mobile phone number (see section 6.4.6). This function
requires the use of the optional GSM Modem and the availability of a SIM card with data
servicesfrom a local GSM supplier (see section 4.5).
Diagnostic Information and additional device information can be obtained from the DFS
anytime using the "Status" command in the PC oder PDA software. The following additional
information can be obtained that way:
 Serial number
 Firmware version
 Manufacturing date
 Date and time in DFS (at the time of communication)
 Number of speed data sets in the memory
