– If the update fails, the phone will use the old software version,
and you can start using, or log on when you press OK.
• If no key is pressed within 60 second, Yes is selected automati-
cally, and the update will be installed.
Note: It is important that you do not disconnect the phone power supply
while the new software is being downloaded and saved. If a
power failure occurs, the software must be downloaded again.
5.7 Software Version
To view which software version is installed currently, do the following:
1. Press .
2. Select Help and press Select.
3. Select About Aastra 7444ip and press Select.
The software version is displayed at the top row.
4. Press Back to return to previous menu.
Note: Press to return directly to the idle display.
5.8 Free Seating
The free seating feature enables you to log on to your IP extension from
any IP phone that allows temporary or free users. This means that the IP
phones automatically work as free seating phones within the network.
When you log on with your extension number from another phone, your
personal settings are moved to that phone.
