6   Handsfree and Headset
This chapter describes how to answer and make calls in handsfree 
mode or by using a headset. 
The standard mode of answering and making calls is to lift the handset, 
and this is also the default mode in the procedures described in this user 
guide. However, it is often more convenient to use handsfree mode, or 
a headset when handling calls. See below for detailed descriptions of 
both options.
6.1 Handsfree Mode
In handsfree mode you do not lift the handset to start a procedure. And 
to end a call, you press   instead of replacing the handset.
By default, the phone is set to connect calls to the loudspeaker when you 
answer incoming calls, or when you make calls by pressing a line key. 
This default setting is known as the loudspeaker preset mode. When you 
dial a number without lifting the handset, the call is also connected to the 
loudspeaker by default.
Action   Procedure  
Answer a call Press the line button that indicates an 
incoming call (the button's indicator is 
flashing) or press Answer.
Make a call Dial the number you want to call. When 
someone answers, the speakerphone 
is activated. Then you can pick up the 
handset, or continue to use the 
speakerphone.
Clear a call
Press .
Switch from handsfree to 
handset
Lift the handset.
Switch from handsfree to 
headset
Press .
Switch from handset to 
handsfree
Press   and replace the handset.
