Remove the plug from the vent hole.
WARNING
Open the vent hole while using the dis-
penser, to avoid damaging vital parts in the
gear.

Suck out the oil with the oil dispenser.
Note
There will be some oil left in the gear after
draining.

Used oil is hazardous material and must
be disposed of in a safe way. See section
Decommissioning on page 639 for more in-
formation.

Remove the oil dispenser.8
Apply Mercasol on the nipple.
Refit the protective cap on the nipple.
Tightening torque: 24 Nm.Refit the vent hole plug.9
Filling oil into the axis-1 gearbox
Use this procedure to refill the gearbox with oil.

Turn off all:
• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the safe-
guarded space.
