The battery can stay connected, to avoid the need of
synchronizing the robot.
CAUTION
If the battery stays connected, put (or hold) the SMB
cover in a safe position. The battery cable connectors
can otherwise be damaged.

Take a picture or make notes of how the robot cabling
is positioned in regard to the brake release board.

Remove the connectors X8, X9 and X10 from the
brake release board.
