4 Programming your telephone
4.1 Initializing your voice mailbox
When you access your voicemail for the first time, you will be asked to set a PIN code.
Press the message key flashing in red.
Enter your personal code then record your name according to voice guide instructions.
Your personal code is used to access your voice mailbox and to lock your telephone.
A weak personal code will be rejected by the system:
Identical 4 digits (0000, 1111,).
A simple sequence of 4 digits (0123, 1234,).
Make sure you choose a strong password with at least 4 digits. The list of weak passwords provided
does not contain all the possibilities.
4.2 Adjusting the display of your desk phone
4.2.1 Switching between LED management modes
For more information about LED management, see chapter: User experience.
The ‘Guided with light’ mode is activated by default, but it is possible to switch from one mode to
the other at any time:

Access the local user menu. The dashboard gives you direct access to the local
user menu on the ALE-500 and ALE-400.

The user settings are displayed by default (ALE-500/ALE-400: , ALE-300: User).

Choose your preferred LED management mode:
Guided: 'Guided with light' mode (default mode).
Legacy: 'Legacy' mode.
