3.3 Safety devices
Attention: Periodically verify that the safety devices are operating correctly. During work, the operator
must be able to assess, recognize and avoid all dangers and must immediately inform the persons in
charge of any faults in the safety devices so that they can be inspected and restored to their original
conditions of safety and reliability.
The platform comprises a complete set of safety devices.
3.3.1 Anti-crushing device
The platform is equipped with a device that prevents the upper limbs of persons near the
extensible structure from being crushed when this structure lowers.
The operator starts to lower the platform by means of the dedicated operating mechanism (15).
Once the platform reaches a position in which there is a > 50 mm gap between the ends of the
scissor structure, the lowering movement stops (see photo above).
A buzzer warns when this operation is in progress.
The operator must now check to make sure that there are NO BYSTANDERS IN THE
DANGER ZONE, after which he must press the lowering push-button again (15) until the
structure has fully closed.
