Fuse Installation for
an AC Output
Figure 3.6 shows how AC power can be routed out of an NC4000 to another device (or another
NC4000) through another port. In this example, AC power comes in through port P6, is routed
to
the power supplies through the P6 and AC thru fuses, and is routed out to another device
(connected to port P3) through the P3 fuse.
To summarize AC distribution fuse rules:
■
You must install a fuse in each AC input line. (No more than two AC inputs are ever allowed,
and they must be from opposite sides of the node, as shown in Figure 3.5 on page 3-5.)
■
You must install the “AC Thru Fuse” if you’re running two power supplies from a single AC
source.
■
Never install the “AC Thru Fuse” when you have two AC inputs to the node.
■
You must install a fuse in the AC output line (if this node supplies AC power to another
device).
