Emergency operation
Your phone remains operational even during a power failure (emergency operation). How you
activate emergency operation is dependent on your phone connection.

If your phone is directly connected to the NT+2ab bus, the exchange provides the emergency
power supply directly. The emergency power is sufficient for one phone. Not all features are
available during emergency operation but you can still receive incoming calls and make
outgoing calls.
To set a phone for emergency operation:
Remove the cover of the speed-dial label field by slipping a
fingernail under the edge and lifting the cover and label field.
Press the snap-in key until it locks into place. Emergency
operation is activated.
To deactivate emergency operation, use a screwdriver or
similar object to prise out the clip (to the right).
➭
If you set more than one phone for emergency operation, none of the phones are able to
function.

If your phone is connected to a PBX, emergency power is supplied via the PBX. The features
available to you during emergency operation and the number of phones which can be set for
emergency operation is dependent on your PBX. Refer to the PBX user manual for details.
