9.1 Ascom IR Location
21
The Ascom IR Location feature is used to keep track of and report the location of handsets. It is
implemented through IR location devices, which transmit location information continuously. IR location is
used to indicate the location of the handset in critical situations when the handset alarm button is pressed.
For Ascom IR Location, avoid wearing the handset concealed. Ensure the top of the handset is
clearly visible.
9.2 NFC
21
The Ascom Myco handset is equipped with an NFC implementation making it possible to use the handset
for NFC related tasks, such as easy deployment which is further described in 2.2.2 Install Using QR Codes
and NFC, page 6. The Ascom Myco NFC solution consists of an NFC chip in the handset and NFC antenna
in the battery of the handset.
The NFC antenna is incorporated into the handset’s original battery. Replacing the battery with
anything else than an original Ascom Myco battery will render the NFC function unusable.
9.2.1 Use NFC
1. Make sure that the screen is unlocked.
2. Place the NFC antenna (the battery on the back of the handset) on the object being read from (or
written to).
