4.12.5 Shared Phone
The shared phone feature enables a personal user number with associated alerts, conversations and an
optional SIP number for calling, regardless of what handset is in use by that user. The feature promotes
privacy since alerts, conversations and call logs are automatically purged when a new user logs into the
handset. Any handset that is configured as a shared phone, can be used by any user with a personal login
in the system, thereby facilitating the management of handsets.
What Is Included in the Personal Login?
Alerts, conversations and call logs are personal for each user. They are not synced between handsets, but
they are purged when a new user logs in. Nothing else is included in the personal login (i.e. not settings,
personal contacts, apps etc). For more information on how to configure the shared phone functionality, see
the chapter Handset Configuration > Login > Shared Phone in the Configuration Manual, Ascom Myco
Smartphone.
Login to a Shared Phone
If no additional login methods are available or are not enabled in the device configuration, the default login
procedure is used. See 4.12.1 Log In, page 25.
The badge login method simplifies login to a shared handset. If this method is configured and the NFC
feature is supported on the device, the user can log in to the handset using the badge and the personal PIN
code. When the user is logged in and the handset is locked, the personal PIN can be used to unlock the
handset.
The badge login feature should be used for logging in to a shared phone. Badge login to a
personal handset is not supported.
Badge Login to a Shared Phone
If a badge is associated with the user account, it can be used to log in to a shared phone. If this is the first
time the card is used for login, it must be associated with the user account. See Connecting a Badge to the
User Account, page 31.

If the handset is locked with the device PIN, press the power button to light up the screen.
