Play the PHONO Test track and take an AC voltage
measurement on the output of the LINE Board - this is to
ensure that the audio signal is passing through the phono
stage - into the ELMA selector - then to the Volume PCB -
then to the input of the Line stage - and to the Output of the
LINE stage - it’s an almost complete Audio test path!
If you are getting some voltage reading of a few volts - then
try adjusting the volume pot to see that the voltage is
increasing or decreasing with rotation of the volume pot.
Once this is completed - they try measuring the other
channel - if all is well turn off the pre-amp and put away the
CD player as we are going to do some more work (unless
you need a break of course!)
Ground Post Installation
Install the Turntable Ground Post on
the back of the chassis as shown in
the picture above. It is a tight fit - push
it slowly into the small oblong hole on
the back of the chassis. Put the
washer and the nut on the inside of the
chassis.
Use an M4 screw as we did with the
main chassis earth point where there
is no paint on the chassis (see above
picture).
Solder a wire from the ground post to
the screw on the chassis.
