Default Handsfree Audio Path
By default, when you make a call or answer a call without lifting the handset, the audio is played
through the phone's speaker while you speak via the phone's microphone.
If you have a headset attached, you can change the phone's behavior so that the audio is played
through the headset by default rather than the speaker.
Procedure
1.
Press the button.
2. Use the cursor keys to select Settings.
3. Use the cursor keys to select Audio.
4. Use the up and down cursor keys to highlight Audio path.
5. Use the left and right cursor keys to switch between Headset or Speaker.
6. When completed, press Save.
7. Press Back/Exit to exit the menus.

Using Bluetooth Headsets
An optional wireless module can be added to a /J179 telephone. This allows it to support a
wireless Bluetooth headset.
When enabled, a icon is displayed at the top of the phone display.
This changes to a
icon when a Bluetooth headset is connected to the phone.
The J179 supports both Bluetooth and traditional wired telephony headsets. You need to
indicate which type the of headset the phone should use. See Headset Selection on page 86.
