Installing the Master Module
Installing a Master Module is similar to other modules but requires additional power and Ethernet connections.
Connecting Power
Power connections to the Master Module differ depending on the production date of the system components. Master Modules man-
ufactured before mid–2019 have a different motherboard than those manufactured after mid–2019.
To connect power to a Master Module manufactured after August 2019:
1 Connect the two shortest power cables in the chassis to both Molex connectors on the included adapter cable, then connect the
other end of the adapter cable to the power port on the back of the Master Module.
2 Connect one other chassis power cable to the Molex connector on the side of the Master Module (use the Molex connector clos-
est to the Ethernet connector if there are two connectors).
To connect power to an original Master Module:
Hold the Master Module above the chassis and connect two of the 2-pin Molex cables in the Cable Harness, one to each of the
two DC inputs on the side of the module as shown in Figure 37.
Make sure to follow the guidelines for module installation in “Installing and Handling Modules” on page 52.

When placing the Master Module into the frame, guide cables around (not over) PSUs or switches.
